Born in Barcelona, Spain, but raised in the United States, China, Switzerland, and Singapore, Carles is a well-rounded musician, having ample international experience playing jazz, funk, rock, pop, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, world music, odd meters, musical theater, and film scoring.

Carles graduated twice with Honors, first from Berklee College of Music (B.M. in Drum Set Performance), and then New England Conservatory (M.M. in Jazz Composition). Other than studying with the the schools' most reputable professors, Carles also attended these institutions under scholarships and awards from Yamaha, Zildjian, and PAS.

Carles has shared the stage with musicians like Dave Holland, Santi DeBriano, Jesus Molina, and Ray Greene, recorded drums for a Netflix production, released his own material as a composer, was featured on Modern Drummer Magazine 2018, and was invited to perform at the 2019 United Nations General Assembly in New York City.

Carles is currrently based in New York City, where he is actively performing, teaching, recording professionally from him home studio, and simulataneously composing and working on his solo career.
